Will I get meat from my own animal?

Yes. You will always receive the meat from your own animal. We never batch or mix animals like some abattoirs do.

When do I notify livestock movements?

For home slaughter, you simply record a death on the Livestock Information Service (LIS). We can guide you if you are unsure.

How do I prepare my animal?

Animals should be kept dry, calm, off hard feed for a short period and in a safe, accessible area. We are happy to advise if needed.
